Hello Star Shaker - Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends

Hello!

Today I am showing you how I made this no stamp shaker card using a mix from Doodles Paper Playgrounds February release, Rosy Gold

That is correct, I did no stamping for this card! I picked up the new star frames from the most recent Lawn Fawn release and just had to use it!

I found this great pink and gold paper this weekend at Michael's and thought that would be great for a shaker card with this blend. It also has some matching washi so I can make a complete card without stamping anything! As normal I first die cut all of the panels for my card.

I added my base panels to my card base and added the foam to my star frame. I dumped out my sequins and kinda eyeballed the placement through my shaker.

I placed my shaker window down and made sure to press it down very firmly all around the edge, We don't want any escaping sparkles!

I used the washi tape for the sentiment. This tape had three different words on it and I decided to go with hello. I banner cut one end and added it to the front of the shaker window.

That is it!
It was super quick to put together and will make a perfect birthday card for one of my nieces!

Happy Birthday Sunflower - Distress Oxides

Happy Birthday Sunflower

I got the new set of Distress Oxides
so I figured I would try out a cool background that I saw.

I pulled out some colors that I wanted to use. I used an overhead transparency sheet to do my ink smooshing. . . Which I am not very good at but will continue to work on!
I didn't use a lot of the Frayed Burlap, it has some blue in it and that popped out right away on my first layer. I wiped that color up right away.

So the back ground was a stripped distressed resist technique. I don't have a striped stamp so I used the Lawn Fawn  Stripey Backdrop die and created a stencil. I dabbed my Versamark pad right onto my background in progress through the stencil and then used clear embossing powder.

The next colors I added to the background were the greens. . . Because of the  clear embossing these stripes kept the yellow color. It wasn't exactly as I had pictured it but I think it turned out great. I knew that I wanted this card to have a black edge so after my panel dried I die cut it to be one size smaller and cut my black base panel.

My mothers birthday is tomorrow and thought this card would be perfect for her!
I used the sentiment from Strawberry Jude Stamps Rainbows and Roses. I white heat embossed it and used a die to cut it in to a banner.

I stamped the sunflower from Strawberry Jude Stamps Hello Sunflower on some vanilla malt card stock and used the Brother Scan N cut to cut it out. I did not color it in, it is a great stamp on it its own and I like how it stands out against the Distress background.

You are Magical - Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends

You are Magical - Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends

Hello!

Today I am showing you how I made this shaker card using a mix from Doodles Paper Playgrounds February release, Spring Fling

I started by stamping my image using copic friendly ink.
This unicorn is from Strawberry Jude Stamps - Unicorn and Sparkles. I used a neutral grey to highlight the unicorn and covered the body in Wink of Stella and used a glaze pen on the hooves.

Next I die cut all my needed panels.
I do not have any frame dies so I used two nesting dies together.
I was able to make the frame a little thicker by skipping one of the nesting dies dies.
This is nice so that I do not have to worry about my foam tape showing.

I used scor tape to attach my acetate sheet to the frame and added a double layer of foam tape.
I rubbed my no static tool along the inside so that my sequins will not stick to the foam tape.

I attached my two bottom layers together and attached them to the card base and placed my sequins on top, ready to be covered. I love this blend, the colors in it definitely say spring and it works great with this whimsical creature!

I added my shaker frame and pressed down well so that I know it adhered well to the base then I added the unicorn to the corner.

I used a scrap from the background for the sentiment which I die cut to get the end to have the banner cut and I added a few sequins to the front of the card.

Birthday Wishes - Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blends

Birthday Wishes

I had these pop ups from Queen & CO. so I decided I would finally use them! The shaker element made this card super quick and easy!

I love stars and this star paper goes so well with the Crown Jewels Sparkle Blends. One of the stars was the perfect size to cover a star on the paper.

I placed the shaker element on my base panel and filled it the Crown Jewel Sparkle Blends. Putting the clear cover on this was a bit tricky but after it was placed a did a little trimming and its perfect!

For some reason I did the shaker portion first, I was excited! I decided that I wanted to white heat emboss this Birthday Wishes sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. After that was done I adhered the panel to my card base.

I then picked out sequins for the front of my card, one of each color from the Crown Jewel blend. I love that there is a rainbow of colors in this blend but they still go so well together! I placed them on my card front using glue dots.

Sending You Love

Sending You Love

I used the Squirrel Mail stamp set from Strawberry Jude Stamps,
It was perfect for this challenge!

I stamped my image and sentiment onto watercolor paper and I used Distress Inks to watercolor my image.

I added a few floating hearts.

I decided that I actually wanted a red background so I trimmed down my watercolor panel and die cut a red base panel.

I added a few red and pink sequins to fill in the corner. . . It was looking kinda bare!

I am entering this card in the following challenge:
